Compensation

$19.15 - $22.00 per hour

What You Will Do

Assist clients with a variety of daily living activities including:

* Ambulation and transfer activities.

* Ostomy care.

* Assists clients with medical equipment, supplies, and devices as prescribed.

* Assists with self-administered medication.

* Simple skincare.

* Takes and record pulse, temperature, respiration, and blood pressure.

* Performs light housekeeping activities (tidying, shopping, laundry).

* Observes, reports, and records changes in the client's condition and environment.

* Adheres to accepted infection control practices.

* Assists with nutritional and fluid intake needs, including preparation of meals.

* Ensures client's rights and confidentiality are maintained.

* Bathing, change of bed linen, toileting, dressing, feeding, shampooing, shaving, mouth care, nail care, and prescribed skin care.

Qualifications

* Satisfactory completion of New York State Health Department approved HHA Training Program or Equivalency.

* Sixth (6) grade reading comprehension level.

* Writing and math skill level to the extent necessary for the successful and safe performance of required job functions.

* Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.

Physical Requirements

* Full range of body motion, including handling and lifting adult clients.

* Standing and walking for extensive periods, as well as bending and climbing stairs.

* Commonly lifts, carries, and maneuvers items weighing more than 50 lbs.
